Born and raised in England in the mid 1980s. I started drawing on my bedroom walls, then my sister’s homework… Fast forward some years and I went to university to hone these skills into more useful things like picturebook illustration. Since then I have worked with a number of publishers including Simon & Schuster, Paula Wiseman Books, Walker Books, Faber & Faber, Little Tiger Press, Frances Lincoln and Albert Whitman & Co.  In 2017 ‘WATERSONG by Tim McCanna and illustrated by myself, was included in the New York Public Library’s Best Books for Kids 2017 list, also the National Council of Teachers of English, named ‘WATERSONG’ a 2018 Notable Poetry Book. It also received a starred Kirkus review.

Ultimately, I love working with picturebooks because no matter how simple the narrative, you can always read between the lines – the only limit is your imagination! Every book I work on is an adventure in itself, I love the process and collaboration that is involved in the creation of picturebooks.

When I am not illustrating books I paint and exhibit oil paintings like these:
